  • Introduction of mechanics
    • Consider Dependencies.

  • Space out the start of the level & refine.
  • Paint over the level plan to fit the level design.
    • (Think contextual) > Observe scale.

Additional Notes:

  • Game doesn't have to be overly long, just well done. (It will be the first time that people are playing the game, so they will take longer to play than normal.)
  • Introduce Mechanic safely > Test with threat > Final exam = boss.

Semester 2 - Supervision Form #04 - 10/02/17

Work Submitted:

  • Concept fence models & paint (texture) from each.
  • All: 2D Level Design/Plans

Issues Discussed:

  • Scale is an issue again for everyone, how big/small is everything?
  • There's too much at the start.
    • The mechanics need to be introduced at a safe pace, one by one, in a logical structure.
      • Do not overburden the player.
      • Consider that this is the first time that the player is playing this game. You need to help them learn to play.
  • (See: Mario, Sonic, Crash Bandicoot etc - Level 1's)
